NWNP Episode 32 - Part 2: Storytelling Across all NWN Mediums

In this episode we have Part 2 the awesome panel discussion about Storytelling across NWN Mediums . The panel consisted of Bruce Nielson, author of the Light Reborn Series , Tony Donadio aka Andarian, author of Sanctum of the ArchMage Module Series , and Kevin Sheehan, creator of the Glorwing gameworld for NWN . Each person brought a different perspective to the discussion, DM Lead module, Single Player module, and full on game or persistent world. In part two they discuss what kinds of stories can be done, maximum players for PWs and their styles, how the NWN tool set lets you cater to all players… or not, is custom content influencing gaming, the fear and lure of dungeon mastering, and taking standard mediums like novel sagas into a NWN game. Part 3 will be next episode. You won’t want to miss it!

It was neither a good winnie nor a good Speedy nor was that a growl it was more like a noise one does when snoring and getting an elbow from the wife to stop. Please please please PLEASE work on that. Oh and trey its not YEEHAYEEHA Andeleandele its Ariba`riba Andeleandele.

Ok.. nice try on the Speedy Gonzales .. He does sometimes say “yehaa”.. but he sounds like an excited mouse from way down south.. I’m not sure _what_ it was we heard on the pod cast..

Here’s a link to what I think you meant to sound like:

Nobody has mentioned how important it is that in DM’d game it is importatnt the the players understand that the method of play is different than single play..

    they should check out this:

and after playing PLEASE rate your DM if playing on NeverwinterConnections .. DMs do a lot of work.. playing without giving them any feedback is like performing a one-person musical on Broadway and having the curtain fall to silence.. and when the curtain goes back up for bows the audience has snuck out in the dark.

    Great episode again!

I really enjoyed this podcast and the last one. The conversation on storytelling is fantastic and I can’t wait for the third part. I would love to play a DMed session as a player or a DM. In my paper and pencil days I always DMed and I suppose that’s what attracts me to writing modules.

I am happily married and have three great boys. This makes it nearly impossible to commit time to anything other than self paced single player modules. I get my D&D fix by writing mods and playing.

Someday when my boys are older, I’ll make them all play paper and pencil mods with me. (I’ll punish them into it). I have played my multi-player mods with my eldest son and we had a blast.

I have play a few hours on a persistent world, but not enough to get a good feel for it. I have DMed a session for one player and think it is quite amazing. Hearing about it from those who have time to participate in it more fully is fantastic.

Well done. Keep the great podcasts coming.

  12. Eat2surf Says:

I’ve got a Jack and the Beanstalk Mod that I’m ’bout finished making.. My almost-5-year-old likes it.. the PC can’t die .. Jack getting bashed by the giant really wasn’t too kewl for the kiddos.

  13. Ashercon Says:

Dave, send us a Mod Spotlight to play!!!! Yes?

  14. Eat2surf Says:

ha.. hmm.. yikes.. hmm.. never though of actually having other people play this thing with their kids.. hmm.. yeah.. it needs some spit-shine.. but I’ll spiff it up and see ’bout a spotlight.. (giggle).. figures.. my first public mod will be for little kids.. go figure.
