NWNP Episode 33 - Part 3: Storytelling Across all NWN Mediums
In this episode we have the final Part 3 of the astounding panel discussion about Storytelling across NWN Mediums . The panel consisted of Bruce Nielson, author of the Light Reborn Series , Tony Donadio aka Andarian, author of Sanctum of the ArchMage Module Series , and Kevin Sheehan, creator of the Glorwing gameworld for NWN . Each person brought a different perspective to the discussion, DM Lead module, Single Player module, and full on game or persistent world.
In part three they discuss how the stories are formed, trends they see in the styles, linearity in the game, Scorpia.com , NWN2 building challenges, Bioware World Creation Contest , custom content & toolsets, how the NWN1 toolset started out, the NWN2 team complimented on accomplishing a lot in a small time, NWN3 you think?, GURPS, and turning revenue. I hope you guys do not really look into those Alienware notebooks, do you? I strongly suggest getting a real notebook if you have to work on it. THose power laptops are okay but overpriced. Also you can hardly call them a mobile device when all you cnan do is work with them 100% cordless fr longer then 2 hours. My suggestion is a Sony Vaio they are not this powerfull but will run anything nicely compared to the 6300 bucks you need to pay for a topnotch alienware laptop they are even affordable pricewise. also you do not have to get vista for your laptop. Most Tech departments offer windows XP for the laptops they sell if not tell them they should and go to the next tech store.

Ha.. take off you hosers.. I’m enjoying this new game of trying to decipher what or who you are trying to imitate with those “cute little voices” you ..er.. yall use.. Bob and Doug from SCTV’s great white north.. but they sounded like they bred with Speedy.. that mouse from down south.
About world building.. do it.. just do it in NWN1!! Hell.. NWN1 has horses for gods’ sake… and I still don’t have a machine that’ll run NWN2.
Sad to have the storyteller trillogy end.. great content!

A real laptop? Ouch, I feel like my Alienware is pretty real.
Sorry Jay, I didn’t know what your budget was. If you want to give your spending cap I’d be happy to take another stab at it. Looking forward to listening to the rest of the show tomorrow!

I moved HFs DVD comments to the forums. A more appropriate place I think.

When I was talking about a real laptop I mean a computer that you can use without having to plug it into a socket. Tell me how long do you think does an Alienware laptop run? Pal of mine had one. It was working 45 minutes. Do you want a laptop like that? I admit as tempting as it is to have a machine like that I rather have a laptop that I can use for work without having to have my car or a power outlet nearby for several hours. if you want a good laptop go for a sony Vaio they are defintively more affordable then the A-Wares and even the less expencive ones have a runtime of 4 hours while having a proper amount of CPU power.

Hey halloweenfoxy, I knew what you meant.
It boils down to the intended use. If you are primarily interested in having a laptop for ordinary applications that also happens to be able to run a game like NWN2 at minimal settings, then I agree with your point. If you’re primarily interested in being able to run applications like NWN2 with good settings, but also desire the mobility, then you just have to accept the fact that it will cost upwards of $3k to do it and it won’t have long battery life. For me, there is no laptop that gets 4+ hours of battery life that could run NWN2 at my desired settings so I went with the Alienware m9750 and it’s perfect for my needs (er, perhaps “wants” would be more appropriate!)
Kind regards.
