NWNP Episode 44: Skunkeen
Jay and Michele look for the cat herd and wonder about the future of Westgate, it’s kind of a mystery. Trey is still on his world tour and Jay and Michele hold down the fort with the usual ferver. It was a light week for news but we have an awesome interview with Skunkeen, Neverwinter Connections 2007 Grand Hall of Fame Dungeon Master.

That new video card will do wonders… but it will also start new problems for you!
With almost no doubt you will need a work around to get NWN1 past the black opening screen..
And… Michele.. you mean cute in a good way.. the word “cute” has an amaazing ability to repell the male species… I’ll just let reader/listeners know that Jack and the Beanstalk is fun as well as cute.
..I have to pause now.. my kids are pulling me away from the pod-cast!! akk!

Wow… Great interview!!! I’ve stumbled and sweated in the DM Client and loved running things.. but I always felt like I wasn’t “supposed” to pause.. and when I did I’d apologize (thus breaking mood).. I’m glad to hear that pausing to help the story/mood is done by the best.. I guess the other key is good roleplayers that aren’t running everywhere.. bashing all the doors and chests..

HF - NWN2 MoTB can be paid by paypal. So I would venture to say, you will be able to get the Adventure Packs the same way.

BenWH I owe all this positive attention to DMFI and NWC. learning the DMFI tools helped me amaze my players where NWC helped introduce me to more players to amaze.
HalloweenFoxy a blooper I felt in the show was Trey asked me where I got the theme idea from laddie and if I speak Pirate after and he did so in a piratey tone. but with removing his question I sounded like I spontaneously spouted off about raising the black flag and gutting folks. thats ok lol, let them folks fear the spontaneous Pirate DM. Trey speaks ok Pirate. heres a video to help improve that tho. how to talk like a Pirate.

Jay Smith I believe if you got a round table of the active admins of NWC would still make an awesome show for NWN1 & NWN2 matchmaking games. and they would be just as qulified and experienced for the Task. and would be able to tell a greater amount of NWN online history.

HF- we found out that the skype servers were actually having network problems. We’re sorry you missed the round table.
I am also sorry if anyone else did. We are coming up with ideas to improve on this.

Woah. That was a really hot interview dude. Congratz again Skunk and thanks to the guys who interviewed him, had some really interesting stuff in there, I actually remember the event he done with the whole travelling back in time and having to avoid seeing our future selves, that is my most fav event! And yes, it was depressing that we missed out on the promised fortune but at least we failed for a damn good reason! Haha. Seriously, if you get a chance to participate in his events, don’t hesitate! 100% guarenteed a jaw dropping event, surprises me everytime. Congratz again for the award Skunk!

That is what I will try next, just to get a few admins together and have them discuss NWC and what it is about. I know a lot of people already know about it, but I believe there are a bunch that don’t. I also believe that NWC is an awesome resource for scheduling games and we should put the spotlight on them for the awesome work they have done for the community.

I played about a half a dozen sessions on Nwn connections, and it was quite a bit of fun. Having dm’d for so many years it’s real interesting to hear someone converse on the subject. It’s really about acting as, for example in Skunkeens case, notice how he slips into character here and there. It’s like being a stage manager with you as dm, also playing a number of supporting roles.
The trick is to maintain that seperation so that the real focus is on the players, not the dm and his various npc personas. For the players it is not playing the dm, as some do. ‘ I won’t do this cause the dm might not like it, or vice-versa’, thoughts like that.
Being somewhat jaded I have found few dm’s that meet my criteria of excellence.

Cigol and HalloweenFoxy I would more then love to game a session with you both. if not on the Sea of Fallen Stars then ive always wanted to try DMing some of the DMFI single adventure modules. I like to DM for 3 hours on weekdays 3pmCST/9pmGMT or 8pmCST/2amGMT. if those times are good for ya lets pick a day and game. Maybe I can do 12pmCST/6pmGMT if I drink coffee thats as strong as ghetto crack then youll really be in for a trip of an adventure.

Michele… with all the mods you play.. have you checked into being a reviewer .. check out the mods that are up for review.. some have been there for almost 2 years!!

I just started a new Campaign, that is a pen and Paper conversion from the Forgotten Realms 2nd edition box set “beneath the Twisted Tower”. with two different groups, but I would really like to unleash my full wrath on yall. lets shoot for March between the 2nd-7th and ill have some new areas and ill unleash the full wrath of the seas on yee with the Sea of Fallen Stars server. ill scedule it right after we agree on a good date , and it would give you time to download the haks in your spare time and get to see a awesome mix of the newer custom content. might add Lord-of-worms undersea tileset. if that time is too far off I can do another rerun of my Beneath the Twisted Tower Campaign for yall but it will be a possable 2-4 session campaign of 3 hours each. I would prefure to do any date in the 2nd-7th tho that way I have some time to really show ya I deserve the reputaition and anyone else who dare question that! HARRR! >:)~

err okay what now how about scheduling a game like next month I have tons of freetime then and even if I am European I can be on at those crazy times that are good for you US bunnies. So ask Trey and Jay let them get a date going. One where they DO NOT HAVE TO RUN AFTER 30 minutes (best on a friday at 10pm EST or stuff) no kiddies that have to be brought to bed no groceries to be fetched and most likely everybody snoring in bed already. also sunday ios a good bit away so the kiddos can bring coffee and breadrolls next morning.. So skunkeen you see I am flexible but only next month.

no problems, even tho I have some pen and paper conversions with NWN made and ready I much rather show ya a new origional story within the Neverwinter Nights story Setting The Forgotten Realms. so it will give me time to build in the toolset some more locations ive been planing.
